6 elements of photography composition:

Pattern
  • Look for patterns
  • Emphasise patterns
Symmetry
  • If you take a symmetrical picture have a good point of interest
  • If there is no point of interest the picture can be predictable
Texture
  • Use when light hits at interesting angles
  • Clever use of texture can make it look 3D
Depth of field
  • It can isolate the object from background
  • It can also reveal the background
Lines
  • Lines can draw eyes to a point of interest
  • Use different sorts of lines
Rule of 3rds
  • Divide image into thirds
  • Put subject into the centre 3rd
